Eventually, when I have time I'll have a look for it today. But as of yet I don't think it will be released yet.

Hmm.. think it'd be eventually possible to refit the 4GB clix2s with 8GB drives? I know the iRiver store does harddrive replacements, right?

There is no harddisk in clix2, it is flash memory (chip) based player. 'Eventually' you need to buy the new 8GB model if you want the extra capacity. Of course, you can try selling you 4GB on eBay to get some money back.

Oh, sorry.. I meant the flash chip when I said harddrive. I just noticed that the iRiver store had the option to replace your flash chip if your current one broke (the repair link isn't working now.. probably because Jeff's on vacation). Once the store gets the 8GB chips in stock, do you think they'd be compatible with the 4GB clix2s?
I think a way you might be able to predict whether this will work or not is to see whether the 4GB chip works in the 2GB clix2s.. Dunno, just a thought.

What the 8 gb Clix have new?
Hi
Nice posts to all of you.All are doing such a great job with Clix serch and reserch .I just want to know what is the main diffrence between 4 gb and 8 gb model?I know about the red line and so....but who can really tell more about the new UI.
Also who may know when il come to UK, i am in London and the price of cradlle is 39 £, and i will save for the 8 gb Clix.
Also there are any major change with the new one, like chip speed, or more futures?
Thanks

The main difference is the extra 4gb as far as I know. The new UI is nothing, just another theme except this one is probably the default.
As for chips and that I don't have a clue. (yet)

unfortunately in this new (default) theme there is no difference in the wallpapers by weekday like in most other things.
@iriverforme: i clearly doubt that there will be any major changes except the plus in capacity. The UI just looks different than the previous default theme (which wasn't the best, but thanks to customizability still no problem). the guide through the menu and all stays the same.
i'm sure you saw the 40GBP price tag for the cradle at advancedmp3player.co.uk. i also checked it out during my research and i while most prices are pretty good i was shocked about the price of the cradle. here in germany it costs 40€! (i own it and it's pretty good but surely not more valuable than that!) check out *:: mp3-player.de :: Your Personal MP3-Store :: Größte Auswahl an MP3 Playern, immer die neusten Modelle ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ********** ** you don't need to understand the german, just type in your searchterm. the store is good, i got my clix there and shipping to the uk is 15€. you might consider it for the cradle. or of course visit theiriverstore!
hope for everyone the 8gig comes out soon, about 2 weeks ago i gave up waiting and got the 4gb

We haven’t been issues with any official information regarding the launch of this player in the U.K.
Although we believe that it should be with us in the next 4-6 weeks
I apologise that I’m unable to offer you a more specific date.
Thank you.

so unfortunately it looks like there is going to still be a bit of a wait in the UK, i guess the first people to make it available will be iriver on there own website
