i was about to place an order for my iriver clix2 4gb version right now, when i ran into this article!!
what are the expected dates on this?

As far as I've heard, from this site, there is no official date yet. There have been some reports of a June release.
On the same topic. I've seen several reports that the 8GB will be sold for around $249.00. However, I came across a website that claimed it would be priced at $299.00. Does anyone have definitive numbers on the pricing? Thanks

yeah, personally, I think the red strip is a bit tacky. But it's worth the extra 4GB.

Red Stripe
First off, don't be hating on the red stripe.
Secondly, does anyone think it might have some special purpose? They wouldn't put it there for absolutely nothing (I assume) and it has weird little things that stick out a little bit.

Secondly.. um Yeah i'm wondering the same thing but doesn't the other two have things that stick out too?

The player could be: - All Black
- Black and White
- Black with Red Stripe
- Purple
- Yellow
- All White
- Green
- Orange
- Lavender
- Salmon
- Blue and Mustard
- etc...
and someone, somewhere would not like it... just a fact of life.
For those who do not yet own a clix 2, the "things that stick out" are: - Volume Buttons (top left)
- On/Off & Smart Key (right side)
- Hold Switch (bottom right)

Ohh Really?? So that stripe can be made practically any color?? correct? Thats incredible, makes me want one even more! |

Nope, you missed my point...
It doesn't matter what color or combination of colors iriver made the player in, someone out there would not like it. It will only come with a Red Stripe. |

For those of you who are sceptical about the red stripe. I photoshopped the 8gig version with other screens.

I think they don't look that bad after all. What do you think?
