Post clix 2 Firmware v1.15 Released

Looks like the clix 2 gets another firmware update. This one is v1.15. Not sure of the changes/updates but we do know that since v1.14 you can play Flash Games while listening to music. We hadn't noticed this before but member Toxicity brought it to our attention, good catch! The new firmware is available via iriver Plus 3.

[UPDATE] Here are all the update and bugfix included in v1.15:

[Update]
Like last update (music in flash games), now FM radio is supported in Flash Games too. While listening to radio, hold < key to exit to main menu and you can switch to play flash games.

[Bugfix]
1. Alarm clock random freeze while in use.
2. Random skipping while playing certain file.
3. Reset when certain type of files is played.
4. Minor UI Errors.

Not even 4 bugfix are considered 'better'? Next one might be a very long wait (with possibly a few crashes in between).... Extra feature is always nice, but I think getting a more stable platform justifies the effort needed.

I was updating the firmware while reading this forum. Thankfully, I didn't need to upload all my music after upgrade.

Honestly, I haven't noticed any significant changes from this new firmware. Please share your observation if you do see some. Thanks.

Format and re-upload your player anyway, just to clear the clix of any little problems.

This is good Advice, after updating to 1.14 I found explorer wouldn't drag & drop to my clix until I reformated it using the settings menu.

Does skipping video files [pressing up/down during video playback] work now in 1.15?

No. It still works as how it was.

Groan...
You guys realize that when you say format and reload, for me it means de-authorize Rhapsody, de-authorize Audible, format, re-authorize Rhapsody, re-authorize Audible then wait for freakin ever for the Channels to load back up. Frustrating to do 1.14 and then find 1.15 a few days later. I'm sure this is what makes some of us reluctant to format.

Chris

Hi Chris,

It is pain for everyone to do format after update, but frozen clix seems to be more horrifying. Of course, the choice of upgrade and format are yours to made.

By the way, Rhapsody firmware isn't the one that gets update here. There is no need for you to feel frustrated.

Clieos, you are right on target. I guess the 1.14 was for Rhapsody and the 1.15 is pretty much the same thing for the rest. I've got my fingers crossed that it's a more stable FW than the 1.1.17 that came with the player.

When you add it all up Clix2 is the most awesome player, no doubt. I've been playing blackjack and listening to music for the past few days and marveling at the players ability to do it. Even Audible!!
