Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if iriver America will bring across the Bijou pouches or any of the other style of pouches into their store or if they will be carried in the iRiver Store? I am not particularly fond of the cases and would prefer a pouch instead.

Will the colored leather cases at the iriver store site be in stock again and do they fit the 8gb? I'd love to have a blueberry one when I buy my clix.

That would be nice to know, when I get mine I want a good quality case, preferably a hard one.

Hey Jeff, I've been waiting for the 8gb for a while and am excited to get it, but am confused. Who are you in relation to iRiver? Are you like their American branch of customer service? Do you work for them? If I buy from you, do I get customer service from someone in the US? Or are you just someone who buys iRiver products and sells them yourself, with customer service and packages? If so, I'd certainly like to buy from you as opposed to them because they're off in Korea and they're website and phone numbers seem kinda sketchy and I don't know anything about them really and if something is wrong with my player, I'd want to be able to send it back without sending it to some unknown basement in Korea. So basically, who are you and what's the advantage of buying from you?

Are you serious? I have to ask cause some of your question are simply not making any sense at all.
Anyway, I will give you your answer: First, Jeff doesn't work for iriver. He is an iriver enthusiast/fans who love the companies' products. He believes their products can enjoy more popularity (because of their quality) and decided to start a forum (MisticRiver.net) for it (this is a few years ago). He also started to sell iriver's product online (and become an official dealer). Last year, he reformed part of his online business and start The iriver Store (as an iriver only store) on the request of iriver. He is the sore employee in this one man business. He also started this site, based on his belief that iriver clix series will be a star among all DAP.
Second, as for customer service, you will get warranty coverage from whatever Jeff sold (on terms, of course). If you have any question regarding the normal operation of the player, you are welcome to post your question here (which very likely that question has been answered before and all you need is do a search).
Third, your player will not be sent to 'some unknown basement in Korea', even by iriver America! All iriver's repair jobs done in North America is handled by a professional electronic company - either with iriver America or The iriver Store.
Forth, iriver America is located in U.S.A., NOT 'off in Korea'. Thier phone might not get pickup fast enough, but it is legit and there is nothing 'sketchy' about it.
I think you can figure out the rest of your questions.

I ordered it from iRiver America. I figured it was now or never, so sorry. It comes Thursday though. So slow.

Aright...clieos...thanks for your answer, albeit a little condescending but I can deal...I really knew nothing about the iRiver store and all that, forgive my ignorance, I just wanted to get some basics down. My questions probably weren't up to your standards of clarity, but I feel reassured about this and I understand what the iRiver store is now and all. It's not that I doubted the legitimacy of iRiver (well kinda) but I just couldn't find that much information about them so I had concerns. Thanks.

trying to be quite while i wait and order all my new toys here too... but is there any chance we can pre-order or get an idea of what the bundle packages will look like? i thought i would be holding this thing by now and the waiting is getting rough.
also when the 4gb came out you were selling it weeks before iriver america even admitted it was out. is this pay back now? making this group wait i mean?
hoping this is over soon,

clieos... from an objective point-of-view, I think you provide a terrific amount of assistance to people on the site, and clearly jeff was smart to make you a moderator/admin, but I completely agree with Rachel. Perhaps you don't realize it, but you do tend to respond condescendingly or with attitude to people in your posts.
You have to remember that while you may be an experienced audiophile and technologist, a lot of people here are not (and a LARGE number are teenagers and/or are not native English-speakers). People come here for the fun & pleasure of it, and some ask dumb questions because they don't know. Your job is to help them, nicely and with respect... that's why you're a moderator, not just a poster like me and others. I would appreciate it if you eased back on some of your edge.

I agree that clieos may sound a little harsh in some comments, but he also has English as a second language (AFAIK) and most of the posts he makes are in reply to questions that he has answered not only here a number of times but on the number of other forums he frequents. And I don't think he tries to have a go at people, just interpreted that way.
