Will theme be flash based?
Since the clix GUI looks very "flash-like," I am assuming the clix 2gen's theme will also be flash based...
This can be a double edged sword,
It'll first of all be good (if flash), since it can be extremely powerful in terms of options, and not to mention customization.
However, it will leave out a lot of creative idea's if it solely limits the production to flash artists, since not all knows flash.
I'm assuming, iriver will create a program? that will create a theme based on the .jpeg and fonts a user selects... any clue on how the theme creation will work? Or are we limited to the ones iriver makes?

wow.
Well aside from translating the whole thing, I'll start first of all by saying the obvious you'll need to know flash to make custom GUI/themes.
Part 1: Alarm Sound
Part 2: Background
It would be nice if I had a clix_theme.fla to work with. If the programming scale is loose, I could probably make an easy wildcard .swf so that users can just have .jpegs and .wav/.mp3 for all the necessary parts to make a custom GUI.
p.s. sorry I'll get a pseudo translation in a few days. I have to get ready for something this weekend.

If there won't be any "clix_theme.fla" around the Internet (that's simply impossible, but who knows ), you could use one of swf's decompilers. Sothink SWF Decompiler is probably the best one.

My only grievance about that is that you require to have Flash tools installed, which not everyone has, and sadly are not freely available (as in beer). Anyway, it is good you can now theme up your Clix, that's for sure!

haha! i was about to point that out. Sothink flash decompiler is brilliant, be sure to buy it and not use the trial (trial only lets you decompile one file at a time!). It makes life so easy, and i'm sure it wouldnt be too hard to decompile clix_theme.swf and change the desktop to a picture of jessica alba
Yes, its true that not many people have the flash programs. But most web-designers, software designers etc would have something like macromedia flash 8 pro. I'm glad i do, really looking forward to messing with the themes.

Haha woah, this clix looks like it's going to be customizable and a half! Even your own d-click icons. Flash d-click icons??? Like once you click the pointing hand goes to a thumbs up or something?
Thanks for tutorials Jeff

Wow, I'm surprised how much source code .fla iriver is actually releasing for this device. When I heard clix theme and fonts I thought it was only a customizable background... never did I realize it could end up as a full mod!
Expect to see great things from this device!
Heck, we can even make a clixhere.net/misticriver.net mod for all I know...
This is one of the many insanely awesome trump card iRiver is holding up its sleeves.

Not sure if these will help or not.
Where would one look for the .fla files?

i'll go get the Fla file (if i can) and upload it back here. Thanks for that jeff. Then anyone whos good at theming can have some fun .
edit: I converted them to .fla compatible with flash 8. If you want other versions, I'll give it a go later. Everything seems pretty easy.
Download Butterfly.fla
Download Fantasia.fla
Have fun!

Am I the only one that experienced a small seizure after seeing these files? haha...
Thanks for these samples!
