In the world of clix it means that when the user connects the player to his/her computer, the computer will see the player as another hard drive. The user can then simply drag and drop music to the player without the use of software.

Please note that a player using MSC mode for music transfer cannot connect to music services such as URGE, Rhapsody, Napster, etc.

The clix 2nd Generation will have a user selectable Transfer Protocol choice in the settings menu to switch between MSC or MTP.
