I've played Log Jam a couple of times and this particular game is much smoother than on my 1st gen clix.

I read that the Clix 2 will have podcast support. Does this mean it will have a separate menu item for podcasts like the iPod does? Is there going to be a podcatching feature in the Clix's syncing software?

Thanks in advance for any info about this.

Yes, the clix2 does support podcasts. They are accessed through the music menu and have their own selection in the menu. Podcasts are synced to the player using iriver plus 3 which is included with the player.

Thanks very much for the info! A couple other questions: does the Clix 2 support bookmarks? So if I stop playing a long podcast (or other audio or video file), play a different file, and then come back to the first file, will it resume playback where you left off? I find this feature to be pretty important since I listen to lots of long podcasts.

If there is no bookmarking support, is the ff and rew fast enough to scan through an audio file in a relatively short amount of time?

Thanks again for any info. I've been really interested in the Clix and was about to order the black, 4GB, 1st gen model, but then heard about the upcoming 2nd gen and decided to wait and see what it'd be like.

I'm probably wrong, but I don't think it works like that. I though bookmarking was when you played a song/video and then turned off the player or switched to a game (maybe). When you turned the player back on or quit the game, the song would still be at the same position and paused.

However, if you switch a song or video you lose the information from the last item. So it will start from scratch.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i've never seen iriver players that can do what you said. It would be a great feature though.

I'm not sure if it has improved since the H10 (my last player). But as far as I know you can still change the speed of scanning audio files (increase or decrease it). However with really large audio files, more than 1hour etc, it can get very tedious fast forwarding to a point near the end. This really depends on the firmware though, because when I switched to rockbox the scan speed was dramatically faster. That said, it could be completely different with the clix2.

It only supports bookmarking on audible content. (Saving last known position isn't really bookmarking.) It does have adjustable scan rates of 2, 4, 6, 30 and 60. At 60 you are moving through a minute of content every second so it doesn't take too long to move through a large file.

Well I have a question. I was wondering if the Clix 2 supports the Dutch language. The clix 2 has probably the same languages as the original Clix so clix 1st gen users could probably answer this one as well.

Well Frank the clix1 does support Dutch as a language, and just about a lot more others.

What earphones does the Clix2 come with?
and are they use-able or would it be worth buying some quality ones?

Cheers in advance

They are standard fair or what I would call "typical" of todays mp3 players. They will certainly be adequate until you can find something else.
