Fingerprint Magnet?
Yes it is....
Get over it, nothing we can do about it..
The invisibleSHIELD will be available on release of the clix2. I'm sending Shield Zone a player so they can create the shield.

The Silicone skin should help with that, does it not?

believe me, they got it right with this player.
If you're reduced to disliking a player due to a gloss surface then you need a life

okay I don't know what's the matter with you, "iclix2". At least I don't praise a piece of hardware and don't act like it's the best thing to come out. That is just as bad as the iPod fans.
but hey, I'm not the one running a clix site

why the hell would the administrator of a clix site no back the product 100%? Ignoring the fact that we are talking about jeff, who is more often than not very fair about the quality of products (well i think so). But if you spend your time on something like administrating a clix site, I think you'd have to have all the confidence in the world about the ability and popularity of the product, or your just going to fail misserably!

I'm definately using a case with my clix2 , firstly because i dont want it to end up like my PMP and secondly cases don't really effect me much, expecially since the clix2 is so damn thin.
It was pretty obvious that it was going to be a fingerprint magnet, but I would happily take the fingerprints for the beautiful finish that the gloss brings.

Finger prints: no real change from the original (just as Jeff says).
Scratches: That is a different question all togeather. I've had the clix2 banging around in my pocket for a while now along with my change (No, I don't treat DAP's very well and no I don't use cases or skins) so far nothing. By contrast my original clix already had a few by this point. Also, the screen "feels" different. I can't describe how except that as you run your finger over it there apears to be more drag - as if there was a coating or something on it.
Due to this descrepency, I decided to do a very unscientific test. I started rubbing the threads of a bolt over the face of the clix2 (don't get too excited, I did it in the black area) at first nothing... so I pressed a bit harder... nothing. Lather rinse repeat. I was eventually able to scratch it, but it went well beyond the preassure I expected it to take, as a guess I'd say about 15 lbs of preassure was required to create a scratch.
None of this is proof of anything and I am not willing to line my clix up next to the clix2 and count the number of passes with steel wool until one or the other is distroyed. However, I am inclined to believe that the clix2 will be harder to scratch up then the original.

I should also mention as a tip:
Star Brite plastic polish does a good job removing scratches on most DAP's (I have used it on quite a few). You can find it in most marine stores, they use it for fixing port windows in boats. One bottle will last you a lifetime if all you use it on is your DAP.
If the scratch is deep you will still be able to see it, but after using the polish it will be clear rather then white. I bought my bottle about 8 years ago for $6 according to the price tag on it.

Over at MR, I'm not sure who it was, but as a durability test to prove to there friends that the clix was a tough little bugger they would scrape a key along the clix's screen with a result of no scratch.
But nice test TedYo. I've been reassured
