Post all your EQ setting here!!!
Is it just me, or does the SRS WOW HD sound like ass? What settings are you guys using? Right now i'm using custom eq. The SRS stuff seems to be missing something... mids or something... *shrug*

I have a Clix1 and don't like SRS WOW, either. It just depends on your ears.
Like you, I very happily use the custom EQ
Now Samsung's DNSE I like and others think that sounds like ass, too ... LOL

I think the SRS WOW HD is superb..
I lowered the SRS, Focus, and WOW to all minimal settings while increasing the bass and definition to their max. WIth those settings, I'm getting stellar quality. But hey, that's what my ear is telling me: excellent. Your ears may say so otherwise.

Interesting. So what does everyone else use for SRS WOW HD settings? As well as the custom settings?

Personally I think that weather SRS WOW is usefull or not depends on the kind of earbuds/headphones you have and the kind of sound you like.
With the stock earbuds or anything worse than them you may find the SRS effects to make your music sound better through the cheap 'phones. But with anything higher end, such as a good pair of headphones or earbuds like some sony's or UE phones, you will find that SRS effects just distort the music.

I see, I have a pair of Bose On-Ear headphones. So I guess using the custom settings would be the best option. So any recommendations for the configurations of the custom settings?
Cheers,

Does anyone else here use Creative EP630's? I know at least one person does. If you are reading, what SRS/CustomEQ settings do you use, if any.

EP-630?
I set it to Normal (no EQ.) when using those. Sometime 'Live' or 'Club' work out quite well too.

I use these same settings with my cx300's and it sounds spot on for dance music!

I mostly use the Classic EQ or a custom EQ for Classical music, as that's the bulk I listen to nowadays. For rock music and some electro tunes I usually leave it at normal. One thing I did notice with SRS WOW is that the battery life is severely reduced, summed up with the fact that I mostly use Oggs (that also tend to drain more power, due to more HP needed to decode them), SRS WOW is simply not an option, as my playtimes are severely reduced from ~18-20 hours to mere 11 hours.
Speaking of earphones and earbuds, recently my father bought an iPod, and I out of sheer curiosity tried these earphones on my Clix. The sound quality is not all that bad, but amazingly, it is noticeably inferior to that of my cheap Sony neckbelt earphones. I truly found that to be rather surprising, as once a friend of mine told me that the one thing he liked of the iPods compared to other players were the earphones which (according to him) had supperior sound quality than most default earphones in DAPs... Now I beg to disagree... Not with my Clix, at least. One thing is true, though, the iPod sounds rather good with those phones, though sounds much better with my Sonys and the Clix has a generally better (IMO) sound quality compared to identical files on the iPod... Very subjective a matter to deffinitely tell which is "best", as every person has his/her "best"

I just tried the settings from philmein, and I love them.. I use Philips HE-591 Surround headphones, they're amazing for $15, and the settings are perfect.
SRS WOW FTW

I have the Creative EP-630s and this is what I generally use. I listen to mostly 80's Rock/Pop/New Wave.
Tracks mainly encoded EAC/Lame 192kbps:
50: +3
200: +2
1K: 0
3K: +1
14K: +2
For me, Party is also a pretty good preset, second would be Classic.
Oops ... forgot to mention I am using the 1st Gen Clix, 4GB Black
