Changing which song tags are sent to the player?

I've got a problem I can't find a solution to with regard to the information tags which are copied to an mp3 player with each song.

I have an Iriver Clix2, and on this player you can browse songs by artist or by album. The problem is that windows media player is sending the "contributing artist" tag information to the player, not the "album artist". If you search for an artist on the player you can see a list of albums by that artist then by selecting an album, a list of tracks for that album. The problem is that for many albums some of the tracks feature other artists, and these tracks don't appear in the album track list, they appear under the contributing artist elsewhere in the database!

eg. Cold Water Music by Aim has 12 tracks, 2 of which feature AG. If you browse for Aim, then Cold Water Music, you only see the 10 tracks written exclusively by Aim. You have to browse to AG, then Cold Water Music to see the other 2! Very annoying if you want to listen to an album through.

Does anyone know a way of making media player, or another piece of software send the "Album artist" tag to the player and not the "Contributing artist" so that all the tracks would appear in the right place?

Alternatively, is there a way to make the Clix display all the songs for an album, like just about any other media player does, and just ignore the "Contributing artist"?

Please help!

If using WMP right click on a song (or select a full album of songs) right click and click Advanced Tag Editor. You can edit lots of stuff there.
Or you can use MP3Tag to fully tag your music.

How can I set up the Clix to display by "Album Artist" like it displays "Album", "Artist", "Song Title", or "Genre"?
