I manually rebuilt the database again this morning, and found the same thing. I don't recall that happening prior to this firmware, so can I assume that is a bug? I don't want to sync with the messed up database, for fear of permanently deleting album art and ratings from my PC, so I wind up formatting. This is a bit of a hassle!

I just used the rebuild database and all my album art and playlists did stay on my clix.

so flashing this 1.12 normal firmware over a Rhapsody Clix2's Rhapsody firmware will get rid of all the Rhapsody options and make it just like a normal Clix2?
or will it brick and turn into a paperweight?

I'm not 100% whether you can but it won't brick your player.
If anything, nothing will happen.
But you should be able to make the switch. If you can't it doesn't matter that much, just an extra Rhapsody option.

i'm not sure if it's just me with this problem or w/e... so i'll just throw it out here
when any form of shuffle is activated in THIS 1.12 firmware, and you make a selection of what song you wanna listen to, it just completely ignores that selection, and plays a random song from the folder...
now that's just dumb... i reverted back to 1.10 after experiencing this annoyance.
anyone else have it?

Why don't you try 1.14?

Will they ever fix the issue of when powering off, the player loses it's place in the music list and then one must start again from the very beginning (groan...)?

I think, from iriver's point of view, this isn't an issue needed to be fixed on their to do list. It is more like an 'extra feature' than an 'issue'.
*By the way, why did you posted in this thread?

I posted here, because everyone was mentioning the update, and fixes. Wouldn't we all consider that a fix?

Mentioning v1.12? We already have a discussion on v1.14.
A fix (or bugfix) only applies when there is a bug (which impairs the normal function of the player). What you want is the extra ability of resuming (which is already available in sleep mode) after power on/off, and that is a feature request, not a bugfix.
