If you mean features, they are the same as the 4GB, except for double the storage.

Nope, the only differences are storage space, and the red border around the 8GB player. Think of it sort of like the iPod nano. There are no feature differences between the 4GB and 8GB, only the difference in capacity (and because apple is a little stupid these days -- color choice)

Question Album Art & Ratings gone after manual "Rebuild Database"?

Since updating to 1.12, it seems like "Rebuild Database" is a pretty destructive function: once I had a screen lockup, and used the reset button, and then rebuilt the database, and all of my album art, ratings, and playlists were gone. I manually rebuilt the database again this morning, and found the same thing. I don't recall that happening prior to this firmware, so can I assume that is a bug? I don't want to sync with the messed up database, for fear of permanently deleting album art and ratings from my PC, so I wind up formatting. This is a bit of a hassle!

Is there a way to report bugs to iRiver? Do they peruse this forum at all? (BTW, in the event that this has been discussed already: I did attempt to search the forums for it before I posted, but I kept getting "you have answered the noBot question wrong" or something like that. Tried with FF and IE7 and got the same thing, so I could not search the forum.)

Thanks!
Jeremy

Actually, if I remember correctly, those stuff should disappear after a database rebuild.

The reason is: (in my understanding) by using WMP to sync, the database is 'linked' to all of those stuff (which stored somewhere else in the player). However, when doing a manual database rebuilt, you clix2 will scan through all the available music files (only) and rebuild the database based on the scan, therefore erasing any link between the music and other things. It really isn't they are 'gone', just not been showed anymore (some might get covered by the setting from the new database).

I just uploaded it through iriverplus but I didn't see much improvement (except screen orientation). One thing that doesn't work for me is: browsing the device while listening to radio. As soon as I leave the radio mode it stops. You have the same problem?

For some reason, all my videos don't work anymore.

Video format not supported

This is using the Clix2 profile on Iriverter

I'm going to try the IP3 converting tonight and let you all know.
