And I disagree on the touchscreen - it'd be horrible to ruin the excellent design of the clix2 by having to incorporate a stylus. I find it embarrasing to use the stylus with my phone when in the pub. And that couldn't be implemented using a firmware upg.

It's a type of codec for music. Free Loseless Audio Codec. Supposedly for better overall audio quality. Look here
Free Lossless Audio Codec - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia <-FLAC Wikipedia.

Queue Playlists
Why, oh, why doesn't it queues playlists like Artists, Albums or Genres, many at the time?

Shuffle and the chaos game

Better shuffle: clix2 tends to linger around an artist more than other players; needs better random algo.
Adjustable volume range: volume goes up to 40 but highest I set was 15.
I found volume 1 too loud when I'm on the bed getting ready to sleep;

I second the song submenu idea because it is really annoying to have to click albums -> the find and click the album -> then finally play the song. Right now i just have separate playlists for every artists' songs. I also second the adjustment of the volume.
But I disagree with you saying the clix is not random. People complained that Apple's iPod had the same problem, but the real problem was that is was too random. Apple created a new shuffle feature that was actually less random but made made duplicates or songs by the same artist farther away from each other. Steve Jobs mentioned it in a keynote sometime ago can't remember which one. Any way the point is that randomness can form groups/patterns as represented by the Chaos game.
Well that is my first post but I have been lurking in these forums for awhile

Support for ReplayGain would be good.

I found volume 1 too loud when I'm on the bed getting ready to sleep; not to mention the hiss - and no, it's not the headphone.

What headphones are you using? Both issues sound like low impedance.
Higher impedance headphones would likely solve both of these problems. Or get a set with volume control on the cord to at least solve the first step too loud issue.

It does. Just hold down the right click instead of clicking it, and it will give you an option to add to queue.

I can't believe no-one has mentioned this yet.
- The ability for it to remember where you've got to on all of your Podcasts.
Coming from an iPod I can't live without this feature. I didn't want another iPod and the Clix2 is a sexy device. Everything else about it is better than my iPod was .... apart from this! The Clix2 has a Database so why can't such a simple feature be implemented?

If you are looking to add to your wishlist, it would be great if the FM had RDS

I've bought my Clix a few days ago.
I think one of the features it needs is something like "stop after current song". I wouldn't mind being wrong though... is it in the menus somewhere and I'm missing it?

Database function
I would like a simple database display function (based on xml), so that you can import text information with a structure and browse through that structure. Possibly with an entry function in iRiver Plus 3.

1-add play mode option in settings
2-browse albums covers (like pics browse)
3-change font color in display settings
4-shuffle 5 stars songs smart key option
5-back to now playing after x secs setting (when playing)
6-show new song name/album for x secs when backlight is off (like pc mp3 players) option
7-most played playlist
8-block song option (not delete, only block, dont play in any mode). and blocked songs playlist off course...
I dont know what else, I love my clix2 just like it is right now...

Exactly some of the features I would like to see. Also, to number 6, I'd like to see a playlist for last modified into the clix. Kind of like Window explorer's option to see the latest modified - which will allow one to see the latest added songs.

3 can be controlled with skins. The way .swf works and the clix that would be really useless as skins were made to look a certain way.
5 - I want this one too
6 - Useless IMO because usually you stick the clix away and why would you want it to flash the songnames. Just click the hold button back and forth if you really want to check a songname when the backlight is off.
7 - You can do this with WMP I believe.
8 - Why on earth would you want a song taking up memory but not be able to be played at all. Seems useless.
