I agree 100% !!

One of the major reasons I chose my Clix2 (after a lot of research, as a self purchased Xmas present last week) was the FM radio built in. It seems to perform very well.

But how are we expected to remember every station's frequency ? I don't have a photographic or database memory :-)

Please give us station names iRiver !!

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned...forgive me if it has, but can anyone skip video files like how you can skip music tracks? At the moment, I can only fast forward or rewind by holding the top and bottom bezels. A single click doesn't do anything...

Also, instead of a cover flow (that wouldn't be exactly original), maybe something like a mosaic-y gallery page made up of tiny album art that enlarge to a reasonable size (but not too big) when selected?

The video suggestion has already been noted. You can check the previous page for a rough draft to see it. The mosaic album art sounds like a good idea and so does cover flow, but iriver needs to make a good graphical user interface before trying these gimmicks out.

I think that a video equalizer (Brightness, Contrast, Tint, Saturation), and maybe optional post processing features (Deblocking, Deringing) could be added to a video sub-menu in the settings menu.

What are these post processing features (deblocking and deringing)?

I'm not sure if little clix2 could handle so many processing features...

Deblocking smooths the blocky edges that you get in highly compressed videos at the edges of macro blocks. I actually don't know what deringing is, and I have never seen a 'ring' artifact... These probably do use a lot of processing power and they might not work on the clix, but the equilizer probably wouldn't be too computationally demanding

Yep, but I think you would use equalizer once, maybe twice, then you would probably leave it at original positions... Cause if a movie is crappy, then even with equalizer you won't be able to make it a lot better...
From my own experience, such options are fun but you get tired of them after some time, especially if there are too many of them...

Here's the final request sheet for the clix2 player. Lots of people here should send this in to get iriver's attention. I only update this to improve the wording -- no features have been changed, removed, or added. Hopefully iriver gets these squared away before shipping a clix3.

You're sending that to iRiver?
I don't think that the Clix2 can support H.264.. Just because of hardware limitations.
I also think that they will never implement AAC/Flac support, because no iRiver product has that (correct me if I'm wrong!).

MAYBE it can't support it. MAYBE it can? It's always better to ask for more than to be sorry that you haven't asked -.- ;]

Ok... after a few months I've come up with these possible "upgrades"

MAJOR
============================
1. Not deleting the ratings and Quick List everytime you "Rebuild Database".

I update my music around once a week and it's pretty annoying to have to rebuild my rating and Quick List. This is a real problem and it's really annoying. Updating the database in iRiver Plus helps a bit (only around 80% of my ratings get deleted, weird...), but it'd be great if it was gone totally either through iRiver Plus or the Clix2.

2. Returning to where I left off in the song before Shut Off after I reboot the Clix (Resume)

I know "Sleep" does this but it sucks so much battery, so it's not worth it. Is it really that hard to make a "Resume" feature in the "Power Off" mode? All my other DAPs do this, even my $30 Chinese Knockoff DAP does it, why not such a premium DAP like the Clix2?

MINOR
============================
1. Make a short press of the Power On/Off button a Display On/Off button

My Cowon A2 has this feature and it's pretty convenient. The Power On/Off button does nothing other than On/Off anyways so why not add a feature to it? It makes sense. I know that the "Smart" button has this feature but I could use it for another feature if the Power On/Off button served as Display On/Off.

2. Make a "Now Playing/Home" option for the "Smart Button"

Press the "Smart" button once in any menu and it'll bring you to Home. Press it once more, you get to Now Playing. Press it in Now Playing and it'll bring you to Home. This would be a great feature to use the "Smart" button for IF they implement the Display On/Off for the Power On/Off button.

3. Playlists made through iRiver Plus are broken.

I made 2 Playlists through iRiver Plus that has around 90 songs each. Both show that the Playlist has 90 ish songs on the top, but when I go to the bottom of the Playlist on the Clix2, it just shows me blank space for around 5-6 songs that I can "click" through, but can't select it and no Song Info is showed, just a blank space that I can click through. I checked these Playlists in iRiver Plus and the "blank" songs show, they just don't show up on the Clix2.

============

Other than those 2 major and 3 minor problems, the Clix2 is an amazing piece of audio hardware and sound absolutely fantastic with my Atrio M5s. The themes are amazing too, makes my Clix2 so much better looking (as if it's not already )

Sorry, but the final request sheet has already been made. I don't want to burden the iriver staff with countless updates that will just get ignored, but it looks like most of what you have is already added to the sheet or just minor issues that need to be tossed aside in order for the main ones to get fixed. You can view the sheet a couple posts above yours.

Not a lot of people are effected by the ratings and quick list database rebuild issue. I know I'd like to add tons of things to the list but they aren't big.

Auto-resume feature has been requested in the sheet.

Secondary feature for the power button to turn the backlight on & off has been requested in the sheet; I like the term "soft press" so I edited the sheet with it.

Although I agree, you can hold down right to go to what's now playing. But maybe I'm biased cause I think the home option is worthless compared to what other controls I could have.

It's just best not to use iriver plus. I have requested in the sheet for iriver to support more playlist formats.

Now send the sheet to iriver. The more people that send it means iriver has to listen to their community.
