Rhapsody Track Licenses

I updated to 1.17 for Rhapsody and formatted my clix2. Now my little green circle is yellow and it's telling me I have to update licenses within 4 days. I can't figure out how to properly do this. I'm using v4.0 of the Rhapsody player, I went to My Account > Update Track Licenses. I right clicked on iriver clix under Sources and selected License. None of this seems to be working. Am I missing something?

Is your Clix2 in MTP mode? Have you sync'ed files from Rhapsody to your player? Are you signed up for the Rhapsody ToGo account and is your subscription paid up?

You might try pestering Rhapsody customer support, they seem to do a half-way decent job.

Yes, MTP mode. I am signed up and paid for with Rhapsody To Go. I assume I have sync'd files from Rhapsody to the clix. I use the Rhapsody player to transfer music from Rhapsody. I would think that is sync'ing, but I haven't seem been correctly updating licenses and none of my searches have come up with anyone having the same problem. Is the Rhapsody player what everyone uses to transfer files with the Rhapsody To Go service? Is there another option?

I don't think there is any other option than Rhapsody for using ToGo service! Have you tried clicking on the "Transfer" button on your Rhapsody, you select clix and you should see "Transfer" to device button. Then you should see the status on the bottom of the screen of the files transferring, you might see a yellow error sign if there is a problem.

Ok, I figured it out. Most of the licenses were updating correctly but there was no way of me knowing it. I had two files that must have gotten corrupt on my clix. They showed up on the clix, but in the Rhapsody player they showed up as unknown. After deleting these two files and updating the licenses, the green dot reappeared and the message about sync'ing went away. Thanks for the help.

So what were the two files named?

When I deleted them thru the Clix menus, it was two Wilco music tracks. I had noticed them in the Rhapsody player on my computer as unknown artist, unknown track name and when I saw that there were two songs under Wilco I got suspicious.

hmmm, interesting. I have a bunch of tracks that Rhapsody says it doesn't recognize... but they don't seem to be causing any problems so I haven't been worrying about them. Especially since I also have MediaMonkey syncing with the clix. Anyway, thats a good thing to keep in mind for future reference.
