Question A way to let iRiver know what we think?

First off I just want to stress that I love my Clix2.

That being said, there are a couple annoying things about it that I think would be very easily fixed with a firmware upgrade. But maybe they're not even aware that people would want these fixes unless we told them.

I want to tell iRiver that:
- Forgetting what was playing when the machine powers off isn't an acceptable behavior for a modern-day mp3 player.
- Ditto for not automatically switching back to Now Playing after a few seconds of inactivity

I've looked around a bit but I haven't really found anything. I figured a call to tech support or something like that would just net a generic "yeah we don't have that feature" answer, and my ... suggestions would promptly be ignored.

So, think they have a suggestion box over at iRiver?

It's nice and all that there's a topic like that...

But the question still remains.. Is iRiver aware of that topic? If not, it's pointless.

Apparently there's a PDF of compiled complaints (tho a little outdated from August 2007) that ppl are encouraged to send in to iRiver. And of course iRiver America has a support email address. I guess I'm probably just going to email to them with my feature requests. Can't hurt, right?

Definetely, but let's still have hope ;] Anyway, I read that some of requests posted there were taken seriously and in new firmwares there were some features added [such as playing music or listening to the radio while playing flash games]

Is this similar to that bookmarking feature request in that list? I'll have to update that PDF document later when I can get the program that does that. I think I added too many nit-picky things cause I still think the clix series offers the most for what you get in such a little player

I'm not sure that this is the bookmarking thing. It's just that whenever the player powers off, it goes away from the Now Playing screen, and whatever was playing when it powered off. And you can't get back to whatever was playing...

Well, that's what it is. I think the Zune has this, it's called "flagging." Maybe I'm wrong on this.

Guys, I'm going to wait to until the first of January to send out a final draft for that year. People are going to get their first clix2 this year

I also have a Zune and I don't even know if it has name per se...it's just an autoresume or whatever...whenever you turn off the player and turn it back on, it's right back where it left off.

Very much appreciated with the PDF. When you do finalize it, please let us all know so we can promptly bug iRiver support with it!
