Well I don't know why, but the Firmware Updater v2.2 doesn't recognize my Clix2 8GB. I want to stay in MTP mode, but change the firmware to v1.14 Rhapsody (I noticed that the non-Rhapsody firmware version is in the sticky). So where can I find Rhapsody enabled v1.14 and how do I install it since the Firmware Updater doesn't work?

First of, the latest firmware updater is v2.6. Second, switching from normal firmware to Rhapsody firmware can only be done manually, read the FAQ for instruction.

On the iriveramerica website the updater is still v2.2 so I guess they don't bother to be in sync with the mother site... Lame.

As clieos already pointed out, you must manually flash your 8GB clix2 with the Rhapsody software. Once this is done, however, you will be able to use the iriver Firmware Updater for all future updates.

One word of caution. Before you flash your clix2 with the 1.14 Rhapsody firmware, make sure that you read this thread. Unfortunately, there are some major bugs in the latest version of the firmware. Version 1.11 appears to be more stable, but you will only have access to 4GB of your player's memory.
