Unable to Automatic Sync

Hi all

Recently, I've been neglecting my clix (Yes I know, very bad ), but now that I've got a lot of free time on my hands, I decided to start using it again. However, since my library has changed so much, I formatted the Clix, just so that there would be no conflicts etc - also, since the last time I synced my Clix, my PC has been formatted.

Previously, I had Windows Media Player set-up to automatically sync my music and pictures to the clix even though I don't use playlists. However, now it seems as though this option is no longer available and I have to create an auto playlist in order to use automatic-syncing. Is there anyway I can bypass this without setting up Playlists?

Thanks in advance

Kwiksta

Plug you clix in, goto 'sync' tab in WMP11, select 'V' than 'iriver clix'. select 'setup sunc', than tick the option for automatic sync... remember to drag everything you don't want out to the box on the left.

Thanks for replying

Okay. I get up to ticking the automatic sync option - but then, there is nothing to drag because I don't have any playlists.

Please help

Thanks

If I remember correctly, there is alway something on the right box (the items to sync). All you need to do is to remove those you don't want to the left box. If there is nothing you want (or nothing there at all), create an auto playlist by selecting the 'new auto playlist', than you can specify everything you want to sync when you connect your player.

There is nothing in the right box.

If I create an Auto Playlist, it will obviously only select particular tracks which meet the criteria, so not all my tracks will go on.

This is so weird. I remember before it was set-up to sync 'All music, videos, pictures' - or something to that effect...

Maybe it's because when I first set-up my Clix, I installed the first version of WMP11 - after that there was an update which may have changed some things

WMP11 compairs your device's storage size with the size of your library and then decides if it should setup an autosync all relationship or a manual relationship. The most likely reason for the change in behavior is that your library will no longer fit on your device.

If you just want the "old" behavior without careing what will fit and what won't, setup an auto playlist with everything in your library. Then setup sync to auto-sync that playlist.

A better way might be to use the "Shuffle contents to device" feature which just randomly picks tracks to fill up your device.

But that's really strange. The Clix can store 2Gb (~1.8GB to be precise) but my library is only ever around 1GB (give and take) because I tend to delete as much as I add

I guess I'll just set-up an Auto Playlist with the criteria: File type is 'mp3'

Still annoying though because it wasn't like this before

Thanks anyway guys

Please keep me informed if you think of anything that could help

!!!

I have no idea how it happened guys, but the 'All Music' 'All Video' 'All Pictures' is now available! Maybe it's because I formatted my PC recently and this is the first time I connected the clix!

Thanks ever so much for the help though
