Movie thread?
I dont know if this iscrazy but i think it would be cool for a place to share movies, if this site has enough bandwith users will post movies like v shows and stuff on here, would be beneficial and of course it would need admin approval before posting but thought it would be cool

The only thing I can say, is that (provided there's admin green light due to bandwidth and disk space) any videos posted should be freely "redistributable", which leaves only a few videos, in other words, videos without any explicit or implicit restrictions or those explicitly stating in some sort of terms of use that are freely redistributable. I don't think it would be a good idea to get into litigations over copyright infringement, don't you think
And I'm affraid transcodes of TV shows and stuff, fall under the umbrella of restricted material.

Almost no videos on the net are njot copyrighted... So no, i don't really think there is much point.
However, if you made the video (ie your director/producer). Then maybe a link to the item wouldnt cause any problems. Given jeff has no problem with it.
But still, better off staying away from the topic.

Maybe just discuss the video's and movies and if users are interested enough, they can go search for it them selfs.

Don't we all? But that's the law and we have to abide by it, whether we like it or not. And it would be reckless to be to post or link to such material. So I'm assuming that any post/thread with such content will readily be deleted.

Buy it themselves you mean , haha but yeah movie discussion is fine as long as there is no linking. Really this should be in the general discussion section. ie... Favorite comedy movies. etc

What he really means is that he will do it himself.
...and if he doesn't I will.

Thanks for the warning, however, I do urge all members to actively report any spamming post/thread using the warning sign ( ) on the top right corner of that post. Once a report is made, please leave a follow-up post like 'spam reported' so other don't have to report it again.
Many thanks for all your effort.

I reported that one as it was a link to a drugs website (we'll leave a note next time ) My anti-virus didn't mention a trojan - what was it called?

What I'm starting to fear is that we'll have to close this thread up, as it has been a beacon for spammers for some time now... And since I lost all my moderation powers, Clieos or Matt, could you close this one?
