Some glitches when using the Clix after shutdown

I've noticed some weird little things that happen when I turn on the player after not using it for a day or so (meaning it has shut itself down).

What happens is that the EQ settings icon and the play mode icon disappear (but when I go to choose both, they are selected - and the icons appear upon reselecting them).

Another thing is that the volume is on the same level like it was before shutting down, but when I want to volume up, it jumps to volume level 1 and I have to volume up all the way to the level I want.

This is a replacement player, and these things haven't happened on my first Clix.

Any ideas?

I haven't noticed any volume change, but my EQ does reset after shutdown...

does the clix behave EXACTLY the same when it's reset as it does when you turn it on after it has completely shut down?

if that's the case, i believe i've managed to loose those glitches i've been experiencing. i reinstalled the firmware, but this time using the 1.5 version of the iriver firmware updater.

oh dear... not everything has been solved. now i can't seem to read any text files. i just get a blank screen and at the bottom (where progress should be written) i get undefined.

i'll try a format.

edit:format did nothing
