I used to have a clix1 2gb and it worked perfectly fine even though I have a USB 1.1 port. I've recently traded it for a new clix1 4gb, however, and when I try to connect it to the computer it charges the clix but does not appear in 'My Computer', nor does a 'Found New Hardware' bubble come up.

I have looked at the FAQ - resetting and formatting did not work. Restarting the comp and using the 'Add Hardware' wizard in the Control Panel hasn't worked either. I'll try doing a Sytem Restore.

I'm using Windows XP, SP2.

Is it in MTP mode or UMS/MSC?

MTP. Isn't it always MTP for the first gen of clix?

I did a system restore but didn't work. Now I noticed when the player is on and I slide the hold button, it instantly shuts off and is resetted the next time it's turned on.

Yes 1st gen is MTP.

Try updating the firmware on your player.

How would I do that though? The most recent firmware updater won't detect anything even though the clix is plugged in and charging, and I can't do a manual update since it doesn't appear in 'My Computer.'

Did the same thing on another computer even through different USB ports, and 'Z:\' had no result either. I'm going to just RMA it, thanks for everyone's help =)
