Clix2 Dock Review/Opinion
This "dock" ( it should be called the amazing!!!!) is indeed amazing! It's soo tiny i could almost entirely close my hand around it, yea very small.
Cons: Havn't found any!!! Unless you think it cant play music thru steareo when clix2 is wearing blueberry/vanilla/kiwi case is a con( as i said in vanilla case review). Other then that, i have found nothing!!!
Pros: They thought of basically everything!
-A headphone jack for listening strait out of dock, convenience.(the clix2 does not wiggle or spin around for you curious bunch)
-A mini 2.0 USB port, the clix2 pops right in very easily.
-A on/off switch for stereo
-a strait edge for laying the clix2 on its side to watch movies with stereo!
- Comes packed with an extra USB mini 2.0 cord! Better yet a case to hold the dock and USB cord, its very soft and squishy, good protection.
-The stereo quality is even more clear then the headphones that came with the clix2, so yea very amazing quality stereo for such a small one!
BTW for the people that think the "X" on the top of the player is dumb, or stupid, think about it.
One- the headphone jack and the USB port on the clix2 are on opposite sides, so impossible to connect both unless you have two docks, duh.
Two- For the people that were saying they don't want to unplug, then plug in again to switch between stereo and USB, well be grateful because most docks dont come with a stereo at all, and luckily iriver graced us with a stereo compacted into a small, attractive, and awesome design.

Thanks for the review.
I just wish they kept the Line-in feature found on the Clix 1 dock.

Yea, line in was cool
You have to see the trade off, no line in = better stereo

Thanks for the review. I had 2 questions about the cradle: With the silicone case on is the clix able to work in the cradle? When the clix is in the cradle (horizontally) to view movies does the opposite bottom corner rest on the ground or is the cradle heavy enought that it stays in the air, inline with the other corner that is attached to the cradle? Thanks

Um...
The silicone case- i don't have one, but owning the dock i would say that it should work, since the silicone is soft and barely adds any amountof dimensions to the player- it should work.
And yes the player does rest on the ground/table, but it's not even a milimeter tilted, you cant tell when watching a video or movie.

I can partially answer that...
with the misticaudio silicone case you can hook to USB with the case on. I've had limited success using the earphone plug for listening with the speaker, line out, etc...
with the iriver brand silicone case you'd see the same results.

Which is the same
Thats the same thing for leather, USB works fine with leather vanilla case, but line out it can be spun around and for it to go thru stereo you have to hold and press it down, not much fun if you want to listen to anything logner then 10secs....lol

^^ very good review mate! i definitely want the cradle now!
Only place selling it is the iriverstore..but shipping to the UK is way overpriced! Almost as much as the cradle itself!

Eh, I don't know. I think the design looks dumb. If it's standing upright, it looks like the speaker is going to lie flat against the desk.
It would appear that the only reasonable way to use it would be on its side, which is fine if you use your display in landscape mode.
And, just a correction... it's not stereo. In the first link above (the pictures) it says right on the box "mono speaker". Lame. Can anyone who has one comment on the sound quality out of the speaker?
From what I can tell, the only functionality the cradle adds to the clix (rather than just using a USB cable) is a tiny mono speaker. Am I missing something?
I think iRiver got the design right with the 1st generation cradle... wish they would have kept a similar design theme for 2nd gen.

Here's new cradle review from Pocketables.net if anyone's interested.
Review: iriver clix 2 cradle
Also can someone tell me if the cradle's line-out output is a constant level or more like a headphone jack where the volume is adjusted on the player? I'd like to be able to use it with my home stereo. Thanks!
