Vanilla Case Review/Opinion
The vanilla case looks amazing! It gives the clix2 a more edible look! I personally did not think that it was possible. Here's a simple review from a non-expert.
Pros: Keeps the screen protected very well ( the top is very tight); The magnet is a plus ( better than a button); It comes with a "stand-up-by-itself" capability (works very well and tilts upward [therefore it's great for putting on tables while you're sitting down or what not])
Cons: I was dissapointed with how you have to put the clix2 in the case. It's actually VERY tight, and you have to push and push till it pops. The first time i did this i thought the clix had broken :/, but it did not break. ( but yea since its so tight it will more then definately NOT pop out like some poeple were wondering.)
The necklace or wriststrap hole is pointless because it is entirely covered by the clix2, so yea useless. Doesn't matter for me though, i just wanted something to keep it safe while in my pocket....of death.....
A little extra, if you buy the dock, sadly you cannot have the case on if you want to plug it into the earphone jack, but oddly enough it can connect successfully with the USB connection and charge/ add-remove data.

Thanks for the review. I was thinking about whether or not to get the leather case. Now I've got my mind made up. I was kind of worried that it was just a propping station sort of thing and the clix would pop out... Thanks again!

As far as I know, iriver is planning to release the very nice looking wrist-watch/armband , but no firmware release date yet. My best guess is Q3 this year.

I was about to order the clix2 and I thought of something. If I get the BestSkinsEver full protect, do I really need the leather case? I think it looks great and all, I just don't want to buy something that isn't really necessary... Thanks....

I have leather case, and i have invisible shield. The way i look at it is, invisible shield protects from scratches and dust and fingerprints and the minor stuff. On the other hand the leather case ultimately protects the clix2 from a fall or something, plus it looks nice and has a very usable stand ( works great on my knee even for the car) SO yea id get it, only 28$ i believe, worth it. Just be careful popping it in the first time It's a tight fit....lol

Thanks for your input. I guess it would be a plus to get both.

Kinda a silly question, but I've noticed an increased reliance on magnets to hold clasps (such as the one on the case here and on my former laptop's case too). Isn't that somewhat dangerous for the flash drive?

I'm not 100% sure but I think this was more of an issue with HD, although a laptop more than likely has a HD. I'm sure clieos/gmureddu/Ted Yo! could shed some more light soon.

Hm, my vanilla case just arrived today. It looks a lot better than I expected to, which pleases me a lot since the brown-leather one was sold out.
I do have one complaint though. After I "pop" my iClix2 in, I seem to lose nearly all functionality in the "downwards" Dclick. When I click down, I can feel the click, but it either does nothing in the player or else it activates either the left or right click. Mildly annoying, anyone have any suggestions?
[Edit]
I've figured out the problem.. The side tabs were hugging the clix2 too hard and that was somehow causing the down-click to be misinterpreted. I forcefully warped the side tabs back (hopefully without damaging the spine) and now I have some functionality with the down-click. Now, as long as I down-click using the bottom left quadrant, I am fine.. the click still feels a tad weird though. I'm hoping that putting my clix2 in there for a while will let it warp into a better grip..

Yea i had a slightly worse case of this, the down click worked....but felt wierd, i did the same....sorta "bent" if you will the sides until they al fit right. The sides being somewhat easily bendable, maybe iriver meant for that usage, but i dont think i would like to stress mine

Oh yeah, near full functionality now Just give it a few minutes of good tension and then leave the rest to the clix2

This may sound weird, but is the vanilla case actually vanilla-y or is it really white. I want to get one but I would prefer more of an off-white( too match the long-awaited 8GB).

For all intents and purposes.. it's just white leather. It's also possible that I'm colourblind, but I hope not :P
