new earphones

Anyone know where I can purchase replacement earphones like the ones that came with the clix 2? If not then something similar? (I don't need to spend hundreds on earphones.)

All of a sudden after a few months tonight after I got home from work the left earphone stopped working and if I jiggle the wire it would play sound again, but most of the time not.

Thanks

You can probably call your local iriver office and ask them to sell you a pair of replacement earbud, and I am almost 100% sure it will cost you more than what you are willing to pay for earbud of such sound quality. If SQ isn't any concern of your, just visit a local electronic store and pick up a pair of Sennheiser or Sony.

If SQ does mean something to you, than order a pair of Yuin PK3 from Head-Direct.com for $50 (or $80 for a pair of the better sounding PK2). It might not look much like a high class earbud, but don't let the look fools you. It worths every cent that you pay for. If you don't trust me, just google 'Yuin PK3' and you will find dozen of reviews.

Took your advice and ordered the pk3. can't wait. I'm using my old J type earphones temporarily and I can't stand it. J is only for looks. It isn't really functional if you need to 'move'. the uneven lengths of the wire just keeps pulling both of them out of my ears and is annoying.

I do have to say one thing, that website you gave me was a bit fishy. They had a button for 'continue w/o paypal' or something like that. Meaning pay directly with credit card. Yet in the end, they 'tricked' me and it was done through paypal regardless.

Head-diect.com is one of those small companies that best known among audiophiles but not to the public. They might not look like a 'real' company, but they are the official distributor of several audiophile headphone brands (including Yuin). In comparison to your old earbud, your new PK3 will bring you a big jump in SQ. I am sure you will love it.

yet again

After a few months of blissful listening with the new pk3, the unbelievable happened again today. Just as in the case of the original iriver earbuds, these started to exhibit the jiggling syndrome and would only play in one ear.

well, that was 50 bucks down the drain.
I'm going to try out the pk2 this time. However I"m gonna get an extension piece to help relieve some of the tension, because I have a feeling the design of the dongle being straight out instead of an "L" shape is putting pressure on the wire as it jostles around in my pocket.

Although I am careful with it, it seems that just everyday usage adds up and eventually wears out some part of it as it constantly gets pushed against the rubber sleeving.

Don'[t theow away your PK3 just yet. You can find replacement headphone jack on places like RadioShack and with a bit of soldering, almost as good as a new one. If you don't want to repair it, I sure you can sell it half price online for other to recable the earbud.
