Question Leather Case tabs - secure? easy to remove from?

I am considering one of the leather cases as a way to mount my Clix to a microphone stand. I use the player for drum/bass backing tracks while playing and singing live and need to hold it securely when in use and remove it afterward. I need to do this repeatedly - every time I perform. I want to somehow attach the back of the leather case to the mic stand and place the player into it - and then remove the player after the gig.

I know it would be drastic to purchase and then modify such a premium accessory, but I need a way to hold the player in place (the tabs) while allowing the d-click function to work. I'm also wondering what makes them have enough grip to hold the player.

So:

1) Are these tabs secure/tight? Will they hold the clix in place so it doesn't fall out and hit the floor from the mic stand?

2) If I repeatedly insert and then remove the clix from them over time will the tabs eventually lose their tight grip, or will they keep that gripping ability even after repeated inserts and removals?

3) What makes them hold the player? Are they just stiff leather or is there some kind of hard plastic or metal inside the tab's leather that keeps their stiff shape and holding ability?

Thanks!

To be honest, I don't know the answer either, because I don't have a leather case. But I would guess that those little leather tabs don't actually hold the clix as such, they just stop it sliding sideways when the lid is closed.

Have you completely ruled out a silicone case? Mine has an velcro-fastening armband which perhaps would wrap round the microphone stand and hold it in place (although I've not tried this - there might be a snag). The silicone case wins, to my mind, because it doesn't interfere with the D-Click at all; and because it is so thin there is never any need to remove the clix from it, just remove the armband from the back of the case.
